Dr. Nita Crump
Dr. Nita Crump, superintendent of the Southwest District, believes that ministry should be worked out through service to others as we serve Christ.
Growing up in Elbert County in northeast Georgia, Dr. Crump attended a small country church on a three-point charge and as a result developed a life-long love of the smaller churches that make up the majority of the churches across our District.
A graduate of the University of Georgia with a Bachelor's in Psycholory and of Erskine Theological Seminary with a Master of Divinity and a Doctor of Ministry, Dr. Crump served in nursing home management before answering the call to full-time pastoral ministry.
She served congregations in Barney, Swainsboro, Mount Vernon, Ailey, Roberta, and Hawkinsville before becoming District Superintendent.
Dr. Crump and her husband, Jackson, have five children, three grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. She enjoys traveling, mission work, reading, crocheting, needlepoint, and watching University of Georgia football.
