Conference Center Update

8/17/2015

By Dr. Hal Brady

Writing in his second letter to the Corinthians, the Apostle Paul suggests that there are three purposes in giving, and he also hints at a fourth. According to this obedient servant of Christ, the purposes in giving are the following: to glorify God; to serve the needs of humankind; to discipline and mature the self in the faith; and to support the life, ministry, and mission of the Church.

Personally, I cannot think of any better reasons to support the new Conference Center of the South Georgia Conference. 736 of you have already given a total of $82,111, and we are so appreciative.

Let me ask those of you who are reading this update a question. Is there some special person in your Sunday school class or church who is deeply loved by everybody? Is there some special person who has meant much to everyone but has already entered the Church Triumphant? If you, your class, or your church have any thoughts of honoring or memorializing such persons, an appropriate way may be a naming opportunity in the New Conference Center. The remaining available naming opportunities are the following:

  • Offices: $10,000
  • Workroom: $10,000
  • Kitchen: $20,000
  • Bishop’s suite: $150,000
  • Main conference room: $250,000
  • Wings: $300,000
  • Conference Center: $500,000
